i like the characters in this book very much. the hero, marie, sometimes appears timid and weak, but when he is in trouble, he will think of his dream and try his best to overcome the difficulties. he was friendly and helpful, and all the sailors liked him very much. and to marie's friend, he is an indian, queequeg, weird names. although it looks very ugly, looks very scary, but he is kind-hearted, disaster comes from see god advice, and rescue you.

我读完了中国古代四大名著，知道了《三国演义》是说分久必合，合久必分，群雄争霸，成败有道;《西游记》是说西天取经，斩妖除魔，惩恶扬善，修成正果;《水浒传》是说被逼无奈，揭竿而起，劫富济贫，落草为寇;《红楼梦》是说才子佳人，情痴情种，情投意合，悲剧收场。但这些是主要内容，本本小说都不同，我们要做的是透过现象看本质。

首先，从文字语言上来看。最早的《西游记》，写于宋朝，那时文人们都写文言文，《西游记》原文对于我们来说是很难看懂的。而元朝写的《水浒传》，虽说也是文言文，但已有了很大改观，蒙古等民族与汉族的融合使语言有了较大的改变，所以，看《水浒传》的原文就容易多了。元末明初写的《三国演义》就又更进了一步。清代写的《红楼梦》则是一个飞跃。由于清军入关，满人统治汉人，文化又一次大融合，所以，《红楼梦》完全从文言文的圈子里跳了出来，它接近于现在的白话文，我们要看懂原文已相当容易。这是清代文学逐步跳离文言文的一个见证，可见，“五四”以后的新文学运动也不是无端冒出来的，它是历史发展的必然。由于《红楼梦》这部小说用词相当恰当，语句相当优美，所以它也成了后来白话文初期效仿的对象，这是对我们现在的语言文字都有很大的影响的一部小说。所以它被称为四大名著之首，也是当之无愧。

接着，我们还可以从内容上来看。《三国演义》写的是三国时期的事情，那时候封建制度才开始几百年，人们的观念相对没有那么封闭，例如曹操的所作所为，这样奸诈，封建礼教的仁义是决不会允许的。但是那是封建制刚开始，统治不深，所以曹操还能成功。人们也都积极向上，励精图治，望成霸业，看来中国在进步。到了唐代，《西游记》写的就是那盛唐屹立于世界之东，大唐的僧人没有哪个国家敢不尊敬。大唐的通关文书更是通行西域。那时，老百姓们对周边的国家已有所了解，所以在吴承恩笔下才会有一些真实的国家。那时，是封建王朝的极盛，曹操那种人已是不可能成就事业的了。《水浒传》讲的是宋朝，那时封建制的顶峰已过，许多奸臣钻着儒家思想的空子，下坑百姓，上欺天子。国家已被他们搞得满目疮痍，所以一些绿林好汉揭竿而起。但那时封建思想已根深蒂固，潘金莲与西门庆是一例，李逵探母是一例，宋江招安又是一例。人们已丢不下忠孝二字，和对女性的约束，那怕造了反仍然不忘。这种观念直到今天尚有遗存。到了《红楼梦》，是写明代的内容，还是封建专制，父母包办婚姻，使有情人不成眷属。但清代的作者曹雪芹已大胆的多，小说的中心敢公然反对封建礼教，这也表明，明清时封建制已走上了下坡路，尤其是清代，在列强的重压下，急转直下。四部书，反映出了中国的兴衰，也反映出人们的观念从开放到封闭再到开放的过程。
