a great deal of dead fish can be found floating on the surface of the huaihe river(淮河), because of serious pollution this summer. in a report, anhui daily

called on residents to help protect the river against pollution.

chinese people are now face to a serious problem--pollution. and this problem is a little bit different from others--the goverment can not solve it by themselves. we need everyone to protect our environment. but we also know that it is very hard to call everyone to join us to protect the environment. but it seems that they have found the way to let everybody know it. in a report, anhui daily called on residents to help protect the river against pollution. i am so glad about it. and i believe that somewhere the pollution must stop.

accidentally received a friends text message, only to find that there has been no contact for a long time, sudden care makes people feel warm. inconsciously think of junior high school life, each other inseparable that day, ordinary and long, but still clear, even every detail.

very early read lu xuns "chaohuaxishi", the article described a lot of his childhood life and early experience. when read "fan ainong" in a paragraph: "from now on i always feel this fan ainong strange, but also very hateful. ... the next day he came to town, wearing a farmers felt hat and smiling like no one he had ever seen before." lu xun, full of complacent in the book, turned out to be like me, in that tangled age, to fan ainong love and dislike, just as we that year for a candy and quarrel with a good friend, and then in the comfort of friends and her deep embrace.

"the sandflies sing here, the crickets play here..." when these words came to my eyes, i was transported back to my carefree childhood. when i was a child, maybe it is like this, with unrestrained imagination, so no matter what will touch our sweet smile. perhaps everyone is recalling those who can not go back to the time bar. even if it was not happy, but also because of the passage of time, plated on a light gold, as if the current life is never as good as the past years.

so this should not be the age of chaohuaxishi, but there are many memorable fragments.

however, it is always said that one can not live in the past, live in the memory. i also know that people should live in the present, live in the present, live in their own sunshine. so, "chaohuaxishi" after, can do, only grasp the moment of time!

the old man and the sea is one of hemingway's most enduring works and may very well become one of the true classics of this generation.it played a great part in his winning the pulizer prize in 1953 and the 1954 novel prize for literature and confirmed his power and presence in the literary world. hemingway is also one of my favorite writers. besides the old man and the sea, i have read some of his other works, such as the sun also rises, a farewell to arms and the snow of kilimanijaro. but the old man and the sea is the one that left the deepest impression on me.

i first read this book when i was in my fifteens. and now i remember it just as well as if i had read it yesterday.

pride and prejudice is a chefdoeuvre.

my first impression of this story was from screen.

it's long long ago, maybe before i can read english books. i don't remember which movie edition i had seen. but i was impressed by the music, the scenery and the costume. i was very favor of a section of music in its balls. it's pretty brisk, liked a wonderful song of a bird. regarding to the characters, i liked elizabeth, the heroine, though i didn't think she's beautiful. but she's smart. however, i didn't pay much attention to the plot. i thought it's so long that it made me impatient and bored. by now, i haven't read the whole story in english or its chinese version, either. i owe it to my prejudice.

in fact, i didn't understand the story at that time. i didn't know why it called pride and prejudice. of course someone was pride, but i didn't find where' s the prejudice. i thought it's normal, the way people treated each other in that. i considered prejudice would be very disgusting. but to the movie everthing was ok in my minds, except its length. now, i think i have understood more about it. i'm a prejudiced person so i can't find where's wrong. i merely like to do the things i like. everytime i meet somebody or something,my thinking about he or it all depends on my foregone experience and my mood of the time.

impressions of pride and prejudice

isquo;ve read a book called pride and prejudice written by jane austen during this winter holidays. jane austen was unmarried all her life. she was born in a mid-class family and was brought up in a comfortable environment with harmonious surroundings, so theresquo;s not too many conflicts in her sight neither in her novel. in pride and prejudice she talked different ideas about love and marriage through different characters.

the novel has told an interesting story: mr. bennet is an english gentleman with an estate in hertfordshire. he has five unmarried daughters but no sons while his inheritance must be inherited by a male, so mrs. bennet has been keen to seek husband for her daughters with great enthusiasm. one day the bennets had a new neighbor called bingley who was a wealthy bachelor and followed be the target of mrs. bennet. at a ball bingley fell in love with jane bennet whosquo;s the oldest daughter of the bennets. bingleysquo;s friend

darcy also came to the ball and struck the sights, many girls liked him while he thought all of them couldnsquo;t suit his preference, including elizabeth. mr. darcy always shows others a impression of pride, having found this elizabeth began to hate mr. darcy. before long darcy fell in love with elizabeth bennett(second oldest daughter in the bennets) because of her lovely behavior, while elizabeth is disgusted by his pride and has a prejudice about him. the official wickham was welcomed by the villagers, and elizabeth also took a shine to him. wickham told elizabeth that his father had been the steward of the darcys. the old darcy had regarded wickham as his own son and showed more love to him than to mr. darcy. after the old darcy died, the property should be inherited by wickham was all deprived by mr. darcy, also was his pastorate. all this increased elisquo;s prejudice about mr. darcy. at another ball mr. darcy invited elizabeth to dance with him, but eli refused him. elisquo;s elder male cousin mr. collin came to hertfordshire to inherit the bennett's property by rules, he wanted to marry with one of the bennets. having known that jane was already engaged with mr. bingley, he asked elizabeth to marry him but was seriously rejected. at last he proposed to charllote who was elisquo;s friend. mr. collins was good at flattering and he got the pastorate with the help of lady catherine. once his family was invited to rosings garden by lady

catherine. elizabeth also went there with mr. collin and charllote. there she met mr. darcy whosquo;s lady catherinesquo;s nephew. later in a garden, sir william told eli about mr. darcysquo;s latest act of dissuading mr. bingleysquo;s marring jane bennet which caused elisquo;s exceedingly anger. then mr. darcy came to the collinssquo; and confessed his love for elizabeth, of course he was rejected impolitely. afterwards mr. darcy wrote a letter to eli in order to remove her misunderstandings of him. elizabethsquo;s uncle and aunt were also impressed by mr. darcysquo;s politeness. gradually elisquo;s prejudice of mr. darcy diappeared. eventually they became couple.

the writer jane austen disclosed mid-class young ladiessquo; different ideas of marriage and love through describing the different ways in which the bennet girls doing with their marriage problems ,and this undoubtedly shows the writersquo;s idea about love and marriage: itsquo;s wrong to get married just for property, wealth and status while neither would it be without caring about those elements.jane austen just attached great significance to marriage through her novel by telling people that marriage should be regarded carefully cause it is not a game you could just enjoy without prudent consideration. she also wanted to deliver information that marriage should be based on real love between the lovers. the female subject elizabeth is a mid-class girl, and darcy proposed to her regardless of the gap

between them, but elizabeth refused because of his pride had formed elisquo;s prejudice. cause darcysquo;s pride was a suggest of status gap between he and eli, he wouldnsquo;t have the same thought with eli and consequently the ideal marriage. but later darcysquo;s doings especially his change of the prideful manner eliminated elisquo;s misunderstandings and prejudice about him, and eli accepted his proposal. those two opposite attitudes reflect femalesquo;s pursue of independent personality and equality. i think elizabeth has personality ethic which caused her independent idea about love and marriage and in consequence she earned a happy life. theresquo;re also elisquo;s sisterssquo; love stories served as contrasts to the female subjectsquo;s ideal marriage, such as charlotte and collinsquo;s life: they do had a luxury life, but theresquo;s no real love between them and this kind of marriage is surely a tragedy of society.
