雅思作文真题及范文篇1

introduce the mentioned opinion and give your own opinion.in recent years, animal protection has become an issue of concern. people take different attitudes toward the increasing attention and expenditure on wildlife

conservation. some people suggest that the spending should be redirected to helping other fields in our society. i agree with the view that the investment in wildlife protection is not worthwhile.

give specific reason and details for the opinion mentioned in the question.

animals, as a key component of the whole food chain, have a profound impact on the sustainability of an ecosystem. as we know, every kind of animals plays an important role in natural balance.for example, the demise of any species will lead to the species will lead to the growth or decline of other species.in some extreme cases, some species may be at the verge of extinction such as dodo bird. if people did not take actions to protect wildlife as soon as possible, we humans will be affected in the end.

give specific reason and details for the opinion of yourself.

however, there are more issues that we need to focus in our society rather than protecting animals.in current social context, the primacy task is still to improve living standards since there are many people living under the poverty line.only when people are in a good living condition can they pay attention to other social problems.besides technology and education are another two aspects for governments to concern, these two industries accelerate the development of society, which will provide a better protection for wildlife in turn.

in conclusion, although the animal is a significant part of ecosystem, it’s better for governments to invest more finance and resources in other social problems.

children's education has long been our concern since plato once uttered, "education is where a country should start at." however, it is still a controversial issue after all these years among people who are particularly concerned about it. some people believe that it is parents' responsibility to cultivate their kids to be fully aware of what a social being should look like; others, whereas, argue that schools should take over this for the ultimate goal. in this essay, i would put this issue in question and further analyse both sides before presenting my personal perspective.

on one hand, parents, as the first touchers of their kids, should tell them how to differentiate right from wrong. given the time parents spend with their kids, they can be more likely to observe everyday change of their children. as a result of this, they are accountable for how their children normally behave in reality. more importantly, considering the fact that people according to their social being are usually placed into diverse norms, parents, as a family, as a part of community and as individuals in the society, should appropriately behave in action so as to deliver a message to their kids in which what should be respected and cherished in lives is highly highlighted.

on the other hand, academic institutions should take the responsibility for educating students to be entirely ready to enter the society. after leaving parents for schools, kids almost devote their most prime time at schools with their peels, their friends and their teachers; therefore, schools ought to put much emphasis on their growth as a person. consequently, students could learn what they cannot acquire from home, such as communicative skills, understanding of various cultures etc.

with the development of cities, more and more new buildings are appearing in the city. some people claim that the government should ensure all the new buildings should be built in traditional styles. for me, i do not agree with this suggestion.

undoubtedly, the old buildings can reflect our traditional culture and should be protected and built. they are the houses where the ancient people lived. by appreciating these old buildings, we can have a better understanding of our ancient culture and history.

however, i do not agree that all the new buildings should be built in traditional styles. first of all, a city’s culture identity consists of the past culture and the modern culture. while past culture can be represented by the traditional buildings, modern culture should be reflected by modern buildings. if all the new buildings are built in traditional styles, the modern culture may be lost in the city. secondly, the style of the new building should be decided by a lot of factors such as location, function, and so on. for instance, it is impossible for us to build a modern shopping mall into traditional style, because there are a lot of famous brands inside. thirdly, modern buildings can accommodate more people than traditional buildings, which can meet the increasing population.

therefore, i agree that we should build some old buildings, but we should not build all the buildings into traditional styles. we should consider a lot of aspects before we make the final decision.

is it a good idea to control the world's population growth?

arguments

1. in modern times, a family with few children, or even with no children at all, is still a happy family.

2. with fewer children in a family, parents spend less time on household chores and concentrate more on their own interests, and their children enjoy better material and educational opportunities than those in bigger families.

3. the most pressing problem created by the rapid increase in population is a shortage of food. at present a large proportion of the existing population is not getting enough of the right kind of food.

4. the rapid rise in world population is creating problems for all countries on earth because there simply aren't enough resources.

5. both rich and poor countries of the world should take united action to deal with the population explosion. otherwise, there will be more people fighting for less land and fewer resources, and the future will bring poverty, misery and war to us all.

6. population increase in developing countries has wiped out the material benefits that they have achieved.

7. statistics show that where the population rate is high, people's living standards are jow. this means, people's living conditions cannot improve unless there is a reduction in the increased rate of population.

8. overpopulation creates a shortage of schools, teachers, hospitals and doctors.

9. overpopulation causes problems in housing and employment, especially in cities.

10. just imagine how much better life would be if the world population were cut by half!

counter-arguments

1. people in agricultural areas need more children to help them with the work in the fields.

2. whether to have children or not is a private matter and nobody should interfere with it.

3. it is unfair to blame all the problems on the increase in population. it is those greedy manufacturers and businessmen in developed countries that make the heaviest demands on the world's resources and cause the most pollution.

4. if population control were a must, it should be carried out in developed countries as well because a baby born in usa will use in his lifetime 30 times more of the world's resources than a baby born in india.

5. children are the most important in life. with fewer children around, life will be dull, meaningless and unhappy. it is incredible for a couple to have no children at all.

6. children in a family give the parents a sense of responsibihty and pride. they are very important to the stability of a family.

7. population control does greater harm than we realize. for instance, if the one-child pohcy is still in practice in 100 years, people then will have little idea of kinship~ ties, for most of them will have no brothers, sisters, uncles, aunts, or cousins.

8. with the govermnent's family planning policy in operation we now have a generation of "only child" families: most of them are arrogant, selfish, and spoilt.

9. a big family offers children a chance to learn how to cope with and care for other people.

10. children in big families have the chance to compete with each other, in terms of their manners at home, their study at school, their performance at their place of work, etc. older children usually have a great influence on the younger one.

雅思作文真题及范文篇5

题目是:some people think traffic and housing problems in large cities can be solved by moving companies and factories and their employees to the countryside. to what extent do you agree or disagree with this statement.

with the economic boom and rapid development of urbanisation, more and more people are now rushing into big cities, which has imposed great pressure on the urban housing and traffic. as one of the solutions to this problem, the government encourages businesses to move to the rural area, which i believe will be very effective to solve the problem of housing and traffic in cities.

on the one hand, most big cities are suffering from large population and limited resources. if big companies and factories, together with their huge number of employees, move to the countryside, there will be fewer people living in the city, then with the housing pressure reduced, the housing prices will surely go down. meanwhile, the urban traffic will also improve because the number of commuters to and from work every day is now smaller. on the other hand, businesses moving to rural area will stimulate the consumption and facilitate infrastructure in this area apart from offering employment opportunities to the local people.

however, some problems may arise if companies move to the countryside. one problem is that the rural area is generally backward in transportation and communication system, which may cause great inconveniences for companies. besides, once many manufacturing factories rush to the rural areas, the peace and quiet in the areas will be immediately disrupted, hence a lot of environmental and social issues.

although there may be transportation, communication and environment problems if businesses move to the country area, i believe it is worth trying because it is an effective way to both solve the traffic and housing problems in major cities and improve the rural economy.(273 words)
