英语150读后感篇1

英文文章读后感

many people often use "mental illness" to scold one another。 it is obversely that people always have some social prejudice on the "mental illness"。

in many cases, psychopaths always refuse to be given medication。 no one can deny that it is disbeneficial to them, but the problem is not so simple。we must realize that the enforced behavior against the respondent's will ,such as injection of mind-altering drugs ,is highly offensive to their dignity and autonomy。 to some sufferers, the word "normal" is so boring, they really hate this, and i have to say that they also own the right to stand on their dignity!

as a final ment, i should say that no matter how terrible the people may be, they should be entitled to make decision and there is on doubt that prejudice should be avoided in society。

英语150读后感篇2

miss austen never attempts to describe a scene or a class of society with which she was not herself thoroughly acquainted. the conversations of ladies with ladies, or of ladies and gentlemen together, are given, but no instance occurs of a scene in which men only are present. the uniform quality of her work is one most remarkable point to be observed in it. let a volume be opened at any place: there is the same good english, the same refined style, the same simplicity and truth. there is never any deviation into the unnatural or exaggerated; and how worthy of all love and respect is the finely disciplined genius which rejects the forcible but transient modes of stimulating interest which can so easily be employed when desired, and which knows how to trust to the never-failing principles of human nature! this very trust has sometimes been made an objection to miss austen, and she has been accused of writing dull stories about ordinary people. but her supposed ordinary people are really not such very ordinary people. let anyone who is inclined to criticise on this score endeavor to construct one character from among the ordinary people of his own acquaintance that shall be capable of interesting any reader for ten minutes. it will then be found how great has been the discrimination of miss austen in the selection of her characters, and how skillful is her treatment in the management of them. it is true that the events are for the most part those of daily life, and the feelings are those connected with the usual joys and griefs of familiar existence; but these are the very events and feelings upon which the happiness or misery of most of us depends; and the field which embraces them, to the exclusion of the wonderful, the sentimental, and the historical, is surely large enough, as it certainly admits of the most profitable cultivation.

in the end, too, the novel of daily real life is that of which we are least apt to weary: a round of fancy balls would tire the most vigorous admirers of variety in costume, and the return to plain clothes would be hailed with greater delight than their occasional relinquishment ever gives. miss austen's personages are always in plain clothes, but no two suits are alike: all are worn with their appropriate differen as we should expect from such a life, jane austen's view of the world is genial, kindly, and, we repeat, free from anything like cynicism. it is that of a clear-sighted and somewhat satirical onlooker, loving what deserves love, and amusing herself with the foibles, the self-deceptions, the affectations of humanity. refined almost to fastidiousness, she is hard upon vulgarity; not, however, on good-natured vulgarity, such as that of mrs. jennings in "sense and sensibility," but on vulgarity like that of miss steele, in the same novel, combined at once with effrontery and with meanness of soul.

英语150读后感篇3

i readwhen i was in junior middle school. at that time i do not know why the old man persists to take dentuso back. it’s so dangerous to fight with sharks. but he did not give up.

but now i’m really proud of santiago. he is so bra一ve and persevering. “but a man is not made for defeat” he said “a man can be destroyed but not defeated.”

santiago was old just as hemingway said “everything about him was old except his eyes and they were the same color as the sea and were cheerful and undefeated.” he think every day is a new day. no matter how old he is. he said “it’s better to be lucky. but i would rather be exact. then when luck comes you are ready.”

santiago was poor; he had nothing except a little boat and harpoon. but he said “now is no time to think of what you do not ha一ve. think of what you can do with what there is.”

santiago was alone. mandolin can not go to sea with him because of his parents. he catches fishes alone. he fights with sharks alone. he can talk to nobody except himself. no one will help him.

but even though he faced hungry; weary and difficulty alone, he does not give up.

somebody said santiago was a failure. because at last he said he wishes that it had been a dream and the boy cried for him can really approve it.

in this way i think santiago was a lucky person. because he still had mandolin. the boy loved him and pitied him. if mandolin had no money his own, he begged or stole to make sure that santiago had enough to eat and fresh baits for his lines. the old man accepts his kindness with humility that was like a quiet kind of pride.

i think santiago is a hero and he is not a failure. because catch fish is a part of his life and it is the memory of his mind and he catch a really big fish back at last. the value of his life was completely reflected in the way he catch fish. he is the real winner in his own world.

after i think about this book and santiago. i realized that i’m not bra一ve enough. i can not stay hopeful when i face laugh and indifferent. and i don’t ha一ve enough courage to do what i want to do. i’m so afraid of this world. i’m so afraid of the people’s words who speak it behind my back. i’m so cowardly and that’s the reason i always lose.

now i know what to do. don’t mind others. be myself. i need possess the quality of reason and shay cheerful and undefeated. be kind and happy. be strong and optimistic.

英语150读后感篇4

?jane eyre》 is a novel with a propensity for autobiography. its writer, charlotte bronte, was born in a poor and calamitous family. they lived in a remote and backward place. it was when the revolution was in progress. the country was changing from agriculture to industry and the newly emerging bourgeoisie were expanding. these all left marks in the novel. the novel mainly describes the complicated love story between jane eyre and rochester to portray a strong woman who was born humbly and lived difficultly but always persist to uphold her independent personality and pursue free individuality and advocate the equality of human life. jane eyre lived under another’s roof with her parents both dead. she bore different treatment form contemporaries’: aunt’s disliking and avoiding her; cousins’ disdain, insult and beating. however, she was not desperate or didn’t destroy herself or sink into those insults. all of the misfortunes bring jane infinite confidence, sturdy spirit and a kind of inside personality strength which can’t be defeated.

when facing rochester, jane never feel herself inferior because of she was a humble family teacher. she thought they were equal and she shouldn’t be disrespected because she was a servant. it was her being upright, noble, and pure that made rochester get shocked and regard her as one can talk equally with himself in spirit. and he fell in love with her gradually. his true heart moved her and she accepted him. but when jane

knew rochester had a wife already, she decided she must leave. she felt her pride was hurt since she loved rochester deeply. and she made a pretty rational decision. when there was a strong power of love and a allure of nice and wealthy life, she still insist on her individual pride. this is what reflected jane’s spirit glamour most.

英语150读后感篇5

many people in the world are trying to find a perfect companion.some of these may marry and not know what their new husband or wife is like.this kind of situation often leads to separation or hostility. other situations may develop between two friends that stem from jealousy, desire for revenge, uncaring parents, etc. emily bront?'s wuthering heights displays several characteristics of destructive relationships. three of these are uncaring parents, marriage without knowing the person, and jealousy.

uncaring or unsympathizing parents are shown throughout this story to be an element of destructive relationships. because heathcliff gained all the attention from mr. earnshaw, hindley became disassociated from his father. this separation continued until after mr. earnshaw had died.another example is between hindley and hareton. hindley became such a drunk and a gambler that he could not properly care for young hareton. this led to a separation between hareton and his father as well. one primary example of an uncaring parent is shown between heathcliff and his son linton.heathcliff did not even want his son for anything except enacting a part of his revenge. this is shown by linton's fear of heathcliff and heathcliff's enmity toward his son. linton even says "... my father threatened me, and i dread him - i dread him!"(244) to express his feeling about heathcliff.the hostility and separation between father and son in this book shows that uncaring parents can cause serious damage in relationships with their children.

this element of destructive behavior may stem from an unhappy marriage in which the husbands or wives don't know each other. this had happened between isabella and heathcliff. isabella did not really know heathcliff when she married him, but after she had married him she saw that heathcliff was not a gentleman at all. to declare her feelings she wrote "is heathcliff a man? if so, is he mad? and if not, is he a devil? i shan't tell my reasons for making this inquiry; but i beseech you to explain, if you can, what i have married ..."(125). another example of this is when catherine married edgar linton. although she had been happy at the beginning of the marriage, she thought having parties all the time was going to be fun. yet, after a while, she became bored. she also realized that she loved heathcliff more than edgar and would always love heathcliff.this enlightenment created separation between edgar and catherine during the final hours of cathy's life. an additional marriage which was made that was doomed was the one between catherine and linton. because this was a forced marriage, cathy had not yet learned all she could about linton.because she did not know until after the marriage that linton was selfish and inconsiderate, she became distressed and grew isolated in the house.these three failed marriages described in this novel show that knowing the person you will marry is very important.while these marriages took place, jealousy also took a hold in some relationships. one example of this is when mr. earnshaw starts to favor heathcliff over his own son, hindley. because of this, hindley becomes jealous of young heathcliff and sets out to make heathcliff's life a nightmare. hindley's jealousy becomes evident when he says ,"... be damned you beggarly interloper! and wheedle my father out of all he has; only afterwards show him what you are, imp of satan."(35). jealousy was also found very notably in the relationship between heathcliff and edgar linton.
